Our Motto
WE STAND ON GUARD
for our legacy from the Iroquois First Nations:

"In every decision, consider the next seven generations."

who we are

Our Mission

The Independent Schooling Fund (est. 2004) was founded in Toronto, Canada by author and human rights activist Annesu de Vos and colleagues from her alma mater, the University of the Witwatersrand. Her background as a student educator with the Education Support Project, an anti-apartheid education program providing academic support for high school students from Soweto and other townships around Johannesburg during the eighties in South Africa, informed our founder's decision to continue working in the sphere of independent schooling in Canada for the past four decades.

ISF Legal Defense Association today is a powerful international network of corporate and community stakeholders in joint venture partnerships with private and independent educatorsfamilies, students, alumni and individual supporters.

ISFLDA is not a charity or a grant making organization. It is a collective of non-profit and for-profit organizations working together with individuals, families and communities worldwide for the protection of the educational, intellectual and spiritual values, rights and freedoms of all present and future generations of humanity.

Our Mandate

ISF Legal Defense Association is a multicultural community advocacy group with headquarters in Ontario, Canada. We focus on education issues in a global geopolitical context. Our mandate is borderless and international. Treating all peoples of all countries with equal respect is a core value of our community. Membership is open worldwide.

Our core humanitarian mission is to defend academic freedom in all countries and at every level of education, regardless of the nationality, language, age, race, religion, gender, political beliefs or economic status of our members. Membership is by invitation only.

Our Values

Freedom of choice in education is a human right enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as per Article 26.3, stating clearly that parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education their child receives.
All human beings, regardless of economic status, geographical location or financial capacity, have an incontrovertible, fundamental human right to choose an education that aligns with their own individual cultural, traditional, moral, philosophical, faith-based, religious or family values. This means the government cannot force you by law to send your child to the public school system at all. If it does, it is in fact violating your fundamental prior right of educational choice.
Few are aware that they actually have such a right, protected by the obligations of the United Nations as per their own 1948 Declaration. Some feel that having the right is well and good, but who can afford private or independent schooling that would provide a quality education that does not conflict with the values held at home? That is exactly where ISF steps in.
We raise funds continuously to assist people in affording their human rights in cases where fundamental freedoms are compromised, threatened, or otherwise affected by economic conditions or governmental overreach.

It is not possible to educate effectively or to uplift communities to their full potential when people lack the fundamental necessities of life. Therefore we have expanded our mandates since 2020 to include advocacy in the sphere of bodily autonomy, food security and housing.

Government "Mandates" Betrayed the Public Trust

It is important to note that the UN Declaration enshrines the right to have the education of your choice funded by government. The idea of having to pay for the kind of education you choose for your child after you have already paid as a taxpayer for the public education system, whose values may completely contradict your family values, violates the human right to academic freedom that is enshrined in that document.

Public academic institutional compliance with government-imposed "mandates" inimical to our core values as a community of free and sovereign men and women, may even put your child's health at risk. This flies in the face of your human rights as expressed in the UN Declaration. Advocacy to governments worldwide, launching legal and constitutional challenges where fundamental human rights and freedoms are infringed upon, is therefore an integral part of our mission.

In recent years, due to geopolitical influences that exerted an onerous impact upon the activities of independent educators and their stakeholder communities, we have added three new in-house fundraising mission programs to complement our core mission.

HOPE TABLE Food Security Project aims to provide access to cost-effective and proper nutrition for our entire network of individual members, their families and communities. We also fight to protect the physical integrity of the food supply, raising awareness and combating unhealthy chemicals as well as dangerous nanoparticles, metals and other additives to food, soil, air and water supplies.

The HOME NOW Housing Strategy Fund provides legal services for landlords and tenants in situations where property rights are compromised by inadequate legal and economic defense systems, as well as innovative alternative housing solutions for homeless and precariously housed individuals and families.

The HEALTH FIRST Medical Freedom Fund aims to preserve and protect the original meaning of the word "Doctor" which is in fact "Teacher." Doctors are revered for their knowledge, trusted by their patients for correct guidance in health care and medical treatment decisions, and even consulted by governments in matters of public health. However, in the years since 2020, we have seen an intrinsically corrupt medical establishment severely compromised by certain financial and political interests, enforcing compliance with so-called "mask and vaccine mandates" worldwide. Educational settings were affected and academic progress interrupted, while the physical health and emotional well-being of many students and families suffered egregiously.

These "mandates" were never bestowed upon public school authorities and governments by the people, for "we the people" were never consulted in the matter at all. Instead, masks and "vaccines" were foisted upon the people, whereas evidence has come to light that these had no basis in science in fact, but instead were simply imposed to serve the interests of those who profit from the resulting political and economic chaos. The "side effects" include hobbling small business and undermining the independence and freedom of the middle and working classes worldwide.

Our humanitarian mission addresses the chaos by raising funds in the most proactive ways possible; networking constantly with like-minded individuals and organizations, and developing an ongoing strategic response to protect the interests of our members and community stakeholders.

Health First

MEDICAL FREEDOM FUND

The most important of our in-house projects addresses the interaction between education and health issues. Our families, members and students make their own health choices.

We do not consent to, or cooperate with, governmental overreach in any country to push any particular treatment or product on anyone.

In rare cases, we may raise funds for specific medical emergencies or to settle medical bills for our members where insurance coverage does not provide for life saving treatment.

Our legal team defends our members' human rights if they are violated by "mandates" infringing on bodily autonomy. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to freedom of movement and association, the right to choose or refuse any kind of medical treatment or product, and to gain access to the specific kind of doctor or alternative healer of their choice. Proceeds of the Fund go to the legal defense of those among our stakeholders who require advice and counsel at any level of legislative intervention or governmental enactment of "mandates" to the contrary, in the defense of their inalienable human right of bodily autonomy.

The Fund actively supports medical professionals whose practices have been threatened by a morally bankrupt medical establishment.

Home Now

HOUSING STRATEGY FUND

Housing costs have skyrocketed in most major cities in the world while work opportunities are increasingly difficult to find and many families struggle to make ends meet.

Our team of financial experts consisting of mortgage financing specialists and many other funding sources worldwide, have developed an innovative set of solutions to address homelessness. Our services include sourcing emergency assistance for precariously housed individuals and families, creating practical solutions for displacement of tenants in consequence of market trends, as well as addressing the cost of legal services for economically vulnerable tenants and landlords with problematic rental situations who seek equitable, humane solutions for housing crises. ISF Legal Defense Association counsel in conjunction with corresponding counsel from the Universal Human Rights Network in Washington DC have developed funding models to assist affected individuals and families in stabilizing their accommodation situation in every affected jurisdiction where our members reside. Our services include, but are not limited to, sourcing funds for interim accommodation to assist members of our network who have been displaced, evicted, or who have to be relocated for any reason including environmental disasters, public emergencies or personal circumstances.

Hope Table

FOOD SECURITY PROJECT

We are currently raising funds to assist our members in obtaining basic food items in times of extreme need, to combat famine and widespread starvation worldwide. Expanding the capital base for this program is our highest priority at this time.

If you or your community are in need of assistance with basic necessities of life and require a membership to gain access to our services, or if you wish to sign on as a corporate or community stakeholder to sponsor a membership for an individual, family or organization in need, we have opened our network to new memberships on a seasonal promotion basis for a limited time only, up to December 31, 2024.

To participate in this program either as a donor, Outreach Associate or as a direct beneficiary of our assistance, contact us for an in-person or virtual meeting, or email  hopetable@outlook.com for more information.

At this time, our services include providing microloan funding through third party providers of emergency assistance to purchase food and/or to assist in affording shipping costs for the delivery of care packages to members in remote areas. In the New Year, we will be launching our first Hope Table food bank projects for local communities in Canada, the USA, Africa, and the Middle and Far East. We are currently working on projects in Canada, the USA, South Africa, and Burundi.

If a Member has a dispute with one or more other Members, the Member shall release the Community, the Independent Schooling Fund (and its officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, employees, partners and their heirs, successors and assigns) from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes. ISF reserves the right to resolve any dispute with or among members that is not settled within 30 (thirty) days of arising, if it arises during a billing cycle, by terminating a membership whereas the Member remains liable for any outstanding fees or other monies due upon termination of membership.

7. Privacy

8. Indemnity

9. No Agency

No agency, partnership, joint venture, employee-employer or franchisor-franchisee relationship is intended or created by this Agreement.

10. Invitation to Membership

Member understands and acknowledges that membership is a privilege and not a right, and that membership in the Community is by duly authorized invitation of an existing Member (introducer or sponsor) only, subject to approval by the Board of Directors of the Independent Schooling Fund. From time to time, under special promotions or conditions, registration may be opened for new members by public invitation with immediate payment of the required fees. No credit terms shall be extended to new members beyond the terms and conditions of the promotion. Failure to pay the fees on deadline will result in termination of membership, reversal of any membership discount previously applied on invoices, interest billings on overdue balances, restriction of access to member services, and referral of any overdue accounts to third party collections. ISF reserves the right to a) reject an application, or b) revoke membership if relevant information has been misrepresented or withheld.

11. Terms of Membership

Membership is on a 12-month billing cycle per calendar year. Memberships renew automatically at the end of a billing cycle, unless one or other party terminates the membership or if the Member requests an alteration to the package selection (e.g. switch from annual billing to the month-to-month option, or upgrade from Silver to Gold, etc.) with the required 30 (thirty) days' minimum notice prior to the commencement of the new billing cycle. Eligibility for changes or upgrades is available only on accounts in good standing with all dues and Associate charges fully paid up to date of requested change (at the end of the billing cycle or 30 days from request of change, whichever is sooner) by Member.

12. Billing Policy

ISF cannot terminate a membership during a billing cycle while a balance of dues or charges incurred with Associates remains outstanding. Termination by Member requires a notification of a minimum of 30 days from the completion of the billing cycle, either annual or monthly. All outstanding dues and service charges become due and payable immediately upon termination on receipt of Final Account Statement, including reimbursement of funds to sponsors if an account was on-boarded by a corporate sponsor or existing member.

13. Sponsored Memberships

In the case of sponsored memberships where a third party or parties paid the membership dues for individual members or member organizations in whole or in part, Member is required to refund the membership dues and any other outstanding accounts (e.g. L & P fees incurred with our provider law firms, accountants or other professionals introduced by ISF to the benefit of the individual member or member organization) in their entirety to ISF immediately upon termination of the applicable billing cycle or of the membership in its entirety, except where credit terms have been extended retroactively to the Member under a financing agreement negotiated with financing sources. Failure to do so will result in collection action and may adversely affect the personal credit of the party or parties responsible for the account, as well as the Corporate credit of the member entity, if applicable. ISF makes corporate credit reports to Equifax and/or Dunn & Bradstreet in the event of default on Corporate credit by a Corporation, and to Equifax and Transunion in the event of failure to settle accounts in timely fashion by individual members.

14. Transferable Benefits

Member acknowledges that certain Member Benefits are transferable, either to a new member recommended by an Introducer or Sponsoring Member, or to any deserving prospective member on the waiting list, subject to approval by the ISF Board, and also that ISF provides access to financing sources in the event of any need for access to Corporate or personal credit to afford dues or work orders on the part of its Members. Members therefore acknowledge they have no right to leave the Community with unpaid bills in the event of a member's decision to terminate, especially in the event of a sponsored membership (in whole or in part) where a third party settled the dues on behalf of Member, and reimbursement is expected in all such cases.

15. Use of Funds

Member acknowledges that membership dues are intended to cover important administrative expenses disbursed at the sole discretion of ISF, including, but not limited to, insurance, cyber security, and strategic investment commitments to secure the funding strategy for the entire Community, so that any breach of good faith as regards dues has serious consequences for the Association and its other Community members. Member therefore commits to paying dues and outstanding balances of service charges on time.

16. Member Benefits

The following membership packages remain in force until further notice over and above any special or seasonal promotions, and the applicable terms include unused portions of member benefits (for example, complimentary access to a "free trial" software package offered to members; access to scholarship funding where members did not apply for the funding prior to the end of the billing cycle in which eligibility remains; unused portion of cryptocurrency collateral etc.) which may become transferable to a third party at the beginning of the new billing cycle, subject to approval by the ISF Board of Directors at its sole discretion.

*In cases where services ordered from ISF and/or its subcontractors exceed $1000 USD, the Association reserves the right to apply the annual membership package to its billing system effective immediately rather than month to month or quarterly, in order to ensure that members do not take unfair advantage of membership discounts to the detriment of the Community and its associates by ordering third party services at a discount without covering Community commitments first.

*After extended credit terms were given, there is no right on the part of any member who has already received any of the listed benefits to leave a balance of dues in arrears; failure to honor membership dues after taking advantage of any membership benefits, will not be accepted by ISF or by the Association Member Community. Any attempt by any member to place the Community at a disadvantage by accepting services from ISF and its associates on favorable terms applicable to members only, and then refusing to settle accounts incurred in timely fashion, will be dealt with vigorously by Association counsel.
